About Donate 4

Donate 4 is an innovative collaborative support project, designed to support four small charities who are fighting cancer.

The Idea brings together four cancer charities to enable them to share experience and best practices, support each other and to find and secure three year funding for four projects.

Donate 4 is the name given to the collaborative working of these four charities.

Four charities brought together who would never had a previous reason to work collectively

Donate 4 can be seen as a cost effective support model that provides support to each charity as an open equal group where issues can be discussed and resolved, and where ideas can be formed and built upon. Donate 4 allows charities to share experiences and share contacts while introducing them to leaders in the charity sector whom they can learn from. Each of the four charities provides an innovative approach to fighting cancer. Donate 4’s aim is to secure 3 year funding to support each charity and provide continued support as a working group.

Core objective:

Four cancer charities supporting each other in delivering four projects that provide positive change to cancer. Purpose: To provide each charity with three years of project funding, which will help develop their own organization to make it stronger, more effective and assist them to move forward. It will also provide a supportive team where each member can strive to bring about a positive change to cancer. Aims:

• Deliver four projects that can provide positive change to fighting cancer

• To provide support to each charity via collaborate working

• To provide four small charities access to leading resources for support

• Make these small charities stronger and more effective

Donate4 is seeking a total of £600k in match funding from ten funders, over the next three years to be shared equally between all four projects.

Evaluation:

Donate 4 project has inspired leaders to share their knowledge to support small charities. Donate 4 has secured a volunteer from British Red Cross to support the charities in evaluating the aims objectives for donate4 "bringing positive change to the fight against cancer".
